In the Nazareno competition, promoted by the ABTM P.D.O. Association of Expert Tasters to introduce young people to the use of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena D.O.P. in cooking, the awards ceremony was held on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the headquarters in Via Peruzzi, where students competed in two categories: the first dedicated to cocktails, the second to cooking, with the possibility of choosing between a first course, a second course, or a dessert. The only requirement was the use of Modena's black gold.

All students, as repeatedly emphasized by the six judges—four members representing the AED Association, President Mario Gambigliani Zoccoli, Vice President Enrico Nasi, Sergio Santunione, Fausto Gozzi, Claudio Degli Esposti from CFP Nazareno, and Ermanno Casari from Consorzio Modena a Tavola—have already demonstrated excellent technical skills, creativity, and inventiveness. However, as is the case with any competition, in the end only two, one from each section, were awarded scholarships that will contribute to their professional growth and, of course, the precious and unmistakable Giugiaro bottle. After more than three hours of presentations, tastings, comparisons, evaluations, and questions, two promising young women came out on top: Lucia Hu, an 18-year-old of Chinese origin living in Guastalla, who presented the cocktail “Forest Berries Mojito,” and Myriam Maragioglio, a 17-year-old from Correggio, who prepared a cheesecake with Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena P.D.O.
